I just finished reading Poetic Justice, and it’s good read. The book is a beautiful compilation of poems written by Muslims from all around the world, and it covers important topics like Palestine, Uyghur Muslims in East Turkistan, environmental justice, and Black Lives Matter. Each poem is like a powerful voice, speaking up for justice and sharing emotions and experiences. 📜✨ What makes this book special was how it brings together so many different voices and perspectives, creating a rich tapestry of thoughts and feelings. The poems touch your heart and make you think about the struggles faced by others. It’s amazing how poetry can unite people from different places and backgrounds, reminding us that we are all connected.
As a non-Muslim, I don’t have a lot of background knowledge or experience that the writers of this poetry book have experienced but I am always open to listening to the testimonies of those who have different life experiences than my own and I feel like this collection on poetry is a great introduction to those who care about Muslim struggles but don’t know where to start. I think it’s great starting by real testimonies from real people. Poetry is my favorite medium and appreciate this approach.
This is a unique collection of poetry finesse. Every poem exudes words of sentiment , concern, descriptions of the most salient expressions of the voice to the voiceless on the imperative issues discussed. The issues of Palestine, Uighars, Mother Earth & Black Lives Matter Written about in poetic styles Writing echoing these this vital issues & need for requisite discussion. Overall, an excellent editorial team and outstanding poetry from the contributing poets.
